Our Programme

Alessandro Scarlatti – O Morte (Madrigali a cinque voci)

Barbara Strozzi – Silentio Nocivo (madrigali, primo libro)

Gesualdo – O vos omnes.  Something extraordinary from Antonella’s own home town! Note that this is the version in his Tenebrae Responsaria, not the other setting (which we hope we can do another time).

Benedetto Pallavicino – Deh dolce anima mia 1600, (Il sesto libro de madrigali a cinque voci)

Sigismondo d’india – Ecco Cintia che torna (Madrigali, libro ottavo)

John Rutter – Birthday Madrigals (complete)

A couple of popular choruses from Italian/English opera, to be announced.

The course will conclude with a performance in the extraordinary Romanesque setting of the Terme Tettucio in Montecatini.

On arrival day, 3 August, there will be dinner available from 18:30 and informal drinks afterwards.  Feel free to arrive at any time on this day. We will welcome everyone formally on the next morning (4th) and begin rehearsals.

During the week there will be daily singing all morning, then a longer break after lunch, followed by shorter sessions in the late afternoon before dinner. Any planned evening events will be announced further ahead. Mid-week we will have a free day with an organised excursion (to be announced).

After a concert in the Terme Tettucio on 9th August, on the final day (10th August) there will be breakfast and a chance to say goodbye.  Feel free to leave at any time on this day.
